AmeriCare Medical prides itself on supporting numerous humanitarian acts throughout Southeastern Michigan, one of those causes is the Michigan Spinal Cord Injury Association (The MSCIA), a 501 (c)(3) that AmeriCare actually helped to found in 2010.  Recently The MSCIA hosted a gala that raised over $16,000 to help individuals with spinal cord injury and disease and AmeriCare was the proud Platinum Sponsor of this event.

The MSCIA Spring Gala was held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Club Venetian in Madison Heights.  The gala was attended by over 125 individuals and was completely accessible to adaptive equipment from the bathrooms, to the pace settings, to allowing more amble space between the tables themselves.

In addition to being a Platinum Sponsor of the event, AmeriCare Medical CEO Greg Jamian acts as the association President and the company had 13 employees who volunteered their time to help run the event.  “I was happy to to support The MSCIA at the Spring Gala,” said Debbie Small, records clerk for AmeriCare Medical.  “We provide services to individuals with spinal cord injury every day and it’s great to see that there is such a great support system in Michigan for these individuals.”

The MSCIA aims to enhance and empower individuals with spinal cord injury and disease through advocacy, education and research.  All donations collected from the event will go towards ensuring that the resources The MSCIA provides to callers remain free, it will also assist in supporting special programs designed by The MSCIA to benefit individuals with spinal cord injury or disease.
